//AL MATADERO SIN MIEDO// from December opens a space, at the second building of Intermediae, where the artists work, that have taken part of the project, will be exhibited.

We started the sample with short documentaries by Carlos Mariscal (from the 2nd of December until the 31st of January).

Carlos Mariscal only communicates through his eyes, due to his reduced mobility, using a sketch board. A difficult and limited system that only allows him to communicate with a few people closed to him. At the workshops he has started to develop a personal project with a video camera. With the camera on his head and from his wheel chair has participated in the filming of different short documentaries. In these documentaries he explores a new way of communication allowing him extending his relationship with the world, exploring his wishes and sharing his memories.

Award to young social entrepreneurs

 

The European University of Madrid has just celebrated the second edition of its awards to young social entrepreneurs. This event was hold in the building of CaixaForum of Madrid: one of the entities awarded was Debajo del Sombrero.

The General European Foundation of Madrid and the International Youth Foundation are committed to projects that focus on social development at their communities.

Debajo del Sombrero is given the Artistic financial grant from MATADERO 2009

The Council of Madrid within the Arts Department develops a year programme for grants for contemporary art with the intention of supporting artist initiatives and collectives like Debajo del Sombrero that seeks to stimulate artistic creative work and contemporary thinking.

Debajo del Sombrero develops its second edition of its project //AL MATADERO SIN MIEDO// at the venue of Intermediae, Matadero Madrid.

 

 

 

Leisure and free time for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder at La Casa Encendida

Debajo del Sombrero continues its Project “El Sombrero en la casa” at La Casa Encendida, a creative process workshop where artists with or without intellectual disabilities are able to share space and experience.

We have opened a new session for the academic year 2009-2010

 

 

Coordinated by the Association Debajo del Sombrero

Target group:  people more than 18 years old with intellectual disability or development interested in visual arts..

Place:  visual arts classroom at La Casa Encendida

Duration: from September 2009 until June 2010.

Timetable: Fridays from 11:00 am to 14:00 pm

Precio: Free .
Transport is paid by the participant

The Fine Arts University of Madrid open its door to Artists that comes from Debajo del Sombrero.

The Fine Arts University of Madrid and the Collective Debajo del Sombrero, started a relationship through an exchange project between artist with and without disability. Artists are from both entities.
The project is aimed at providing new contexts and methodologies, directed to discover and to foster the development of the creative’ processes in artist with intellectual disability.
intellectual disability. Working sessions take place each Thursday from 10:00 am to 13:30 pm at the sculpture workshop of the University.

CREAHM 30’s birthday

The Art Center CREAHM (Creativitet et Mental Handicap) from Lieja is thirty years old, and once more a big reunion has been celebrated. Ten days programme with different activities: dance, circus and specially painting, run by CREAHM as well as other workshops from other projects and other countries invited to participate.

Celebrating from January to November of this year, Creahm offers a programme of activities to share and to celebrate its anniversary.
