This programme is placed at the Intermediae space in Matadero Madrid.
//AL MATADERO SIN MIEDO// started in October 2007 under the perspective of total accessibility. We began the process with a group of 17 people (6 of them live full time in an Institution), without limits concerning their difficulties and with the only requirement of willing to participate. This group of people together with the team of Debajo del Sombrero and the educators who goes with them from the institutions, make the steady part of an interrelated unity.
We started from the hypothesis that the artistic practice allows different ways of communication to daily situations. It enables us to place this relationship from the freedom and the value of expression or the outstanding creation. An exceptional situation that simply place us differently facing the difference of the other.
Our central action is built around communication. We look for the possibility of a real dialogue, with equal opportunities, designing the activity like a challenge to the space: to build up a space flexible enough and receptive to receive, to accompany and to strengthen any way of communication.
Alone its development, the workshop has been changing its shape, always attending the participant’s interests, so at this moment we could mention three big areas of interests:
